Recap From Week In Europe
Posted by Matthew Furman / Landscape, Personal Work, Road Trip, Travel
Frankfurt, Munich, Switzerland, and Prague. I was in each of those cities last week. It was an ambitious trip, and we crammed in as much as possible. We rented a car, and I was the driver on the trip so I can now add ‘Autobahn Expert’ to my resume. And I only say expert because most of the time I was driving through one of the worst snow storms Germany has had in years. My favorites? Prague was amazing. Unlike any place I’d ever been. And Munich was a really cool city that I felt I’d like to live in. But the highlight for me was going to the top of Mt. Pilatus in Switzerland. I’ve already posted an image from that here, but I also shot some video which is what really does these breathtaking views justice. If you’re afraid of heights, perhaps you shouldn’t watch. If not, I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. And turn off the HD option if it’s not playing properly.

Next Stop - Switzerland
Posted by Matthew Furman / Landscape, Road Trip, Travel
Took a gondola to the top of Mt. Pilatus today. Unreal. Once at the top, I wanted to hop on a snowboard and ride down it. Even though I didn’t have a board and probably would’ve been arrested for doing it. Just weird to take a gondola down the mountain too. Never did that before…

Europe This Week
Posted by Matthew Furman / Personal Work, Road Trip, Travel
I’m on a road trip in Europe this week. Up first, Frankfurt Germany.
Loved this cool mural inside St. Paul’s, which was destroyed in the war, but rebuilt and no longer used as a church. In 63 JFK gave a major speech here.

Took the family to Shelter Island a couple weekends ago. Oh, and brought a camera too.

The Fried Chicken Capital Of America
Posted by Matthew Furman / Food, Personal Work, Road Trip, Travel
On a little road trip this weekend we were in Barberton Ohio, which claims itself as ‘The Fried Chicken Capital Of America’. So I asked around and most people said that the best place to go was Milich’s Village Inn. This place is no frills, but it definitely lived up to its reputation.

Madrid Day 1

I arrived in Madrid at 9:00am this morning. Which meant it was 2:00am NYC time. Feeling a little jet lagged, but I soon rallied. The airport in Madrid is the coolest I’ve ever seen. All futuristic and shit…

After checking in to the hotel, we were off to scout locations for tomorrow’s shoot. No rest for the weary.

This city gets really beautiful at night. I catch my second wind and get so psyched that I tell myself I’m going to stay up all night and roam the streets taking night pics for a new personal project.

We sit down at an outdoor cafe for some beers and tapas. And that’s when it hits me. The crash…
Now off to bed, completely exhausted. That personal project will have to wait till tomorrow. Hasta Manana.

I took this either going to visit my family in Central Pennsylvania, or coming back. Can’t remember which. There’s something about it that I like though.

D.C. Day Trip
Posted by Matthew Furman / Behind The Scenes, On Location, Road Trip
I drove down to Washington D.C. yesterday and did 2 shoots, then drove back. It’s a brutal day, but it’s just close enough that I prefer to pack the car up with gear, assistant, etc instead of dealing with the airport hassles.
On the way to D.C. crossing the Verrazano Bridge at 5:56am
